Through a magical, educational and interactive experience, “Havfruenes Verden ( The World of the Mermaids) intends to take children on a journey through the challenges, joys and mysteries of the sea and merpeople in it. Through dance, singing, theater and water play, I want to engage the children in how we can take care of the marine environment, while at the same time giving them an unforgettable bathing experience.
Status: In 2024 I am using a lot of time and effort applying for founding for this project in order to create a performance/workshop, . So far I have done some low/none-paid preprojects/ giggs, see under. I find it imporant to not only sitt and write and wait for projectfounding that might not come, but trying to develope the concept and projet in other ways to as far as possible. In order to get the project going.
Pre-project 16-18th of August 24.
Together with mermaids Katrine (Nemone) and Gina (Koral) from northern Norway. They came to Verdal for a weekend.
We where bringing kids into our mermaid world through an interactive workshop/performance at Verdal Svømmehall. We did storytelling, siren-singing with the kids, did a mini show for them, and offfocurse swam, explored water and dived with them.
A huge thank you to the parents, kids, and mermaids for making this weekend possible. It did become a special experience 💙 Also thank you to Verdal Svømmehall for letting use the space 👌🏻👏🏻 and the newspaper iVerdal for a nice article. 🩵
We learned about what different age-groups like, need, and I got several new thoughts for the road ahead.
I am looking forward to next time and to dive deeper into what this is or can be.😊

Pre-project/gigg May 23: The Little Mermaid .
Together with child liberian, cosplayer and fellow mermaid Karen Birgitte, we did in our hometown, Verdal, in collab with the local cinema. In connection to Disney’s live version premiere of “the little mermaid”. We were dressing up as mermaids and taking pictures, telling a new mermaid story, draw water creatures with the kids and danced & moved with them.
